5…4…3…2…1! Happy New Year!!! Well, almost! I hope you can celebrate with your loved ones, some champagne, and a midnight kiss. 

Thank you so much for another year of continued support in Sprouts & Chocolate. It has been too long since I posted something on here and while I do feel guilty about it, so much has happened in the past three weeks:

1) I did a video on Skill Share! Skill Share and I collaborated on a project together titled, “Oil-Free Hummus: 3 Ways,” where I make an original batch of hummus with two flavourful variations off of the original. It was fun but terrifying as I am usually behind the camera and not in front of it. It made me question all sorts of things like, “is that what my face looks like?” and “is that MY voice?” You can enroll in this class FOR FREE with this link. I would love the feedback so check it out! 

Skill Share is pretty cool, you pay for it like a Netflix subscription, but it teaches you how to do soo many things from fashion, to graphic design, to cooking, to photography, all taught by teachers who are experts in their field. Instead of marathon-ing another TV series, put on some Skill Share videos about things you have always wanted to learn how to do- like setting up a wicked Mail Chimp account, or learning how to take street photography or mastering Photoshop. Unlike Youtube, each video series is broken down task by task so you don’t have to backtrack so much whenever you need to hear the teacher again. All the videos are project based so you can follow along with the task and show your work in the Student Project Gallery. If you made it your New Year’s Resolution to learn something new but don’t know where to start, check Skill Share out.

2) I did  a guest post about my past food anxieties and disordered eating for fellow blogger and badass woman, Lacy Davis from Super Strength Health. She is the best and I am so glad she asked me to do it. After publishing the post, a lot of my friends that had no idea about how I felt, came up to me to talk about the post. It was so great to hear that a lot of them were sympathetic and it also opening up their spectrum on what not to say about a person’s body and eating habits. If you are struggling with disordered eating, Lacy is an invaluable resource of motivation, guidance, and strength. Check out the post here. 3) I got a new job! Woot woot! Currently, I am working 60 hours over 7 days a week- not ideal but it is just what needs to happen right now. Getting used to a new schedule has been tricky- becoming a morning person especially! Caffeine and I have been good friends these past three weeks. Have you checked out The First Mess’s new Superfood Lattes post? Laura makes me up my morning beverage game. 

4) The day before Christmas Eve, I got a seriously angry stomach bug that left me in bed for days. You may have noticed I have been totally MIA on social media, but even looking at pictures of food was making me sick so I had to turn off the phone. My Christmas dinner consisted of electrolyte fluid and saltine crackers. Yum…

I am feeling a lot better but still not 100%. I have been slowly reintroducing foods to my body- including this recipe.
